- The drop down hinge is designed for heavy drop-down lids. The gas struts allow the flap to descend gently and hold positions at 75°, 90°, or 105°. This drop-down hinge ensures that the falp lid lowers slowly, providing sturdy support for the weight when it opens and protecting the cabinet structure from damage caused by slamming or abrupt door closures.
- The hinge is crafted from solid brass and iron. Each gas spring hinge delivers 150 Newtons (approximately 33LBS) of force, making it ideal for supporting and controlling the movement of drop-down door, such as those found on drop-leaf desk, drop-front desk, secretary desk, cabinet doors, loft hatches, or any DIY projects.
- Overall length: 8.5in (compressed) to 12in (stretched). The space-saving hinge will extend automatically as you pull the lid open, and will not get in the way. The mounts feature slots for fine-tuning piston placement, ensuring the best fit before you lock them in place.
- With the provided template and step-by-step guide, you can easily find the right screw holes and get the installation done without any fuss. Even if you're not very handy, the process will be straightforward and easy.
- Attention: This gas strut is designed specifically for drop-down flap lids to prevent them from suddenly falling. It is not suitable for upward-opening cabinet doors or toy box lids. If used in an incorrect application, the gas struts may not function effectively.
